Welcome to My School for Earth (“Platform”, “Program”, “Website”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using this Website, participating in the Program, submitting information, or engaging with any initiative connected to My School for Earth, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

My School for Earth is a sustainability education initiative based on a concept co-created by iSTEP Mentors and The University of Melbourne to encourage environmental awareness, student leadership, and sustainability engagement within schools. The Platform and related activities are managed and operated by iSTEP Mentors.

2. About the Platform

My School for Earth is designed to support schools, educators, and students in showcasing and participating in sustainability-related projects, awareness initiatives, leadership activities, and environmental engagement programs.

The Platform may include:

  • sustainability challenges,
  • school participation activities,
  • student leadership opportunities,
  • environmental awareness campaigns,
  • rankings and recognition systems,
  • educational resources,
  • mentorship or engagement activities,
  • and related events or initiatives.

Participation in all activities is voluntary.

3. School Participation

Schools may voluntarily participate in the Platform by submitting sustainability-related initiatives, data, photographs, videos, reports, or other materials.

Participating schools are responsible for ensuring that:

  • all submitted information is accurate,
  • they have the authority to share submitted materials,
  • all necessary permissions and consents from students, parents, staff, or third parties have been obtained,
  • and submitted content complies with applicable laws and regulations.

We reserve the right to review, moderate, edit, reject, or remove any submission at our discretion.

4. Rankings, Scores & Recognition

Any sustainability rankings, scores, badges, listings, recognitions, or acknowledgements displayed on the Platform are intended solely for educational engagement and awareness purposes.

Such rankings or recognitions:

  • do not constitute accreditation,
  • are not government certifications,
  • do not guarantee environmental performance,
  • and should not be interpreted as official endorsements.

Methodologies, evaluation criteria, and scoring systems may be updated, modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

All decisions regarding participation, recognition, rankings, or evaluations shall remain final at the discretion of the Platform administrators.

5. User Content

By submitting content to the Platform, users grant My School for Earth and iSTEP Mentors a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, publish, display, promote, and distribute such content for educational, awareness, reporting, promotional, research, or program-related purposes.

Users confirm that submitted content:

  • does not infringe intellectual property rights,
  • is not unlawful or misleading,
  • and does not contain defamatory, offensive, or inappropriate material.

We reserve the right to remove content without notice.

6. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all content on this Website, including logos, branding, graphics, methodologies, text, design elements, and program materials, are owned by or licensed to My School for Earth and/or iSTEP Mentors.

Any reference to The University of Melbourne is limited to acknowledgement of educational collaboration and co-creation of the initiative concept and does not grant permission to use the university’s branding, trademarks, or identity without appropriate authorization.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, My School for Earth, iSTEP Mentors, their affiliates, representatives, advisors, employees, collaborators, and associated contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, financial, reputational, or technical damages arising from:

  • technical interruptions,
  • inaccuracies in submitted information,
  • third-party actions,
  • or sustainability claims made by participating institutions.

Participation in the Platform is voluntary and undertaken at the participant’s own discretion and risk.

8. No Guarantees & General Clarification

The Platform does not guarantee:

  • admissions,
  • certifications,
  • institutional recognition,
  • partnerships,
  • sponsorships,
  • funding,
  • environmental outcomes,
  • or media exposure.

Any examples, case studies, or success stories shared on the Website are illustrative only.

Participation in My School for Earth does not create any admission pathway, accreditation, employment relationship, certification, or formal institutional association with The University of Melbourne.
